Easy to use. It’s basically like one of those Glade plug-ins, but for fruit flys and gnats. It has changeable sticky panels, so when it gets enough fruit flies, just change up the sticky panel. The first couple days no fruit flies or gnats, but checked back in a week and probably 25-30 on there. Noticed they pretty much disappeared from the kitchen. Added bonus is the blue light puts out just enough of a blue light that it doubles as a mini night light. With this plugged in, I can use this and my iPhone charger and they both fit into a standard outlet.

I bought this and a very similar, slightly less expensive model (Defagie) to try out and the Dynatrap ended up being massively more murderous on the tiny fruit flies (and the occasional full-sized monsters) that showed up in strength this summer. Even using the Defagie sticky cards in place of those provided, this model blew the other one totally out of the water. The difference was incredible: after a couple of days, it was on the order of twenty plus no-see-ums on the card in the Dynatrap, compared to less than ten, and sometimes only five or less (!) with the other, with BOTH using the same Defagie sticky cards. It soon became glaringly obvious the lights on the Dynatrap model are much, much better at attracting the pests than the single light source on the other. So much so, we ended up ordering a 2nd Dynatrap and a 10-pack of Defagie replacement cards to keep our living areas almost completely fly free. Excepting the tiny no-see-ums and rare large bugger, we didn't have other flying pest problems, but this bad boy was KILLER on the ones we did target. For us, this inexpensive, super simple and easy to use gizmo was a great buy and -greatly- reduced our stress levels by eliminating those obnoxious little horrors that repeatedly seemed to be appearing at the corner of an eye or tickling a nostril. Finally, success: Hurrah!!!! :-)

I keep this Dynatrap on 24/7. Unlike the outdoor one that doesn’t trap mosquitoes like DynaTrap advertises, this unit is very effective, knats, fruit flys, regular flys. Company lists what the unit and inserts does accurately. I change the glue insert out about every 2 weeks.

The DynaTrap DT1050SR is indeed quiet. And it does seem to attract and kill lots of bugs (mainly moths) However I am not sure it does a better job than other bug "zappers" on the market. And you don't get that satisfying sizzle when the other trap and fry a big 'ol bug. :) More importantly, the bulb only lasted 3 months. Pretty expensive investment if you buy more bulbs or not. I have a Flowtron (similar to https://www.dynatrapoutlet.com.com/Flowtron-Electric-Attractant-Mosquito-Certified/dp/B0096UA8MK/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2YP18JAK0QT9M&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.B6PzGe7QOy7Xv0XKGYvQoIyXfI430yJJOjiUg0YvEx6TNGWwdGtOq33izc007sDz4VWBij7zgXnESfttF8GhUFjy-owIn0r6UZlHfB1MMoQf1d4-iXUbBMrP_yU-v1GuEX6FYkATtZMZ04oIPS5DDjz7txrTmIBtjLTO6KyrsHGe_uh-801mz3vZ2yPvRDGsgKqtOWrsg-ZtDRCvI_DEsSmve-h6dy3lpElrcB7OdCFY9_lafWjkNAMAsp6hRq3mfv5gs5BX8N3MoEvhb4SpVGUIsjM1sObGQNcf5ejkadA.4JdS3d81L3nXjYpePgwMtJSgY9Sb3_qz1vn8fK4AGXA&dib_tag=se&keywords=flowtron&qid=1723927024&sprefix=flowtron%2Caps%2C102&sr=8-5) that I paid about half the cost of this one, almost 4 years ago, and it is still going strong (and give that satisfying sizzle and puff of smoke on the big bugs!). Part of what helps this I think, is that I have the Flowtron on a light sensor, so it turns off during the day and doesn't wear out the bulb as quickly. This DynaTrap does not let you do that. It must remain on to kill the bugs slowly. If you turn it off the bugs can escape and you have to catch them again. If they had a way to keep the fan going when the bulb was off this just might be a bug killer I could recommend. But at this time I think there are better deals out there. If you like it quiet and don't mind changing bulbs every 4 months (recommended) or more often, then it is probably a good one.

All Bug zappers attracts and kill, but what is so important is it self cleans or comes close. I was not paying attention. Then notice after three days bug more then normal at night with zapper on. I noticed this in the morning. Not good for me, a lot of the time I can’t come out everyday to clean. Well needless to say this is going back, a faulty design. Onto the next attempt, which will be an led one I saw..

I run this trap on my off grid cabin. I put new bulbs in every spring. This year mosquitos came early so I placed the bulbs early. They both worked, so I drove home. A couple weeks later I was back and one of them is bad and I can't get it to work on either side.

Great for smaller areas, but I dislike the fact that the replacement bulb for this one is on the expensive side.

I was eager to try the DynaTrap DT1130-GRSR Mosquito/bug trap as we have a lot of rain in the spring and get a lot of mosquitos as a result. We have the standard bug zappers that can be loud, so I was excited to see how quiet this unit is. After running it a while, it did trap a collection of bugs. I can't say that this totally eliminates all the mosquitos in a given area though. We use it on the back patio, and while it does attract and trap quite a bit, there's still a lot of those bloodsuckers flying around to get us. But, using it in conjunction with our existing bug zappers and some mosquito dunks, the number of mosquitos 'bugging' us is greatly diminished. I may look at getting another one for our front porch.

I bought the manufacturer’s replacement bulb so I wouldn't have any issues. It’s usually the cheap after market ones that give you grief. Not this time. This manufactures bulb lasted a whopping 5 weeks before burning out. Sad. My original bulb lasted for years.

I live on an island in Florida. This thing has been running nonstop for four years. Countless tropical storms, a couple of hurricanes. Quite impressive considering everything else I own is rusting away:)

The trap works. With it hung in the back yard, a significant number of biting bugs are gone. Before we had this, mosquitos and horse flies made sitting outside intolerable. Is it 100% perfect? No. But there will only be a tiny fraction of the mosquitos and flies after a few days. Initially we hung this at the deck in full sunlight. It worked well. Then we moved it up wind in the shade, a little way from the deck/pool and it was less effective. Finally moved it slightly down wind, in the shade near deck and pool and it seemed to do best there. Keep it fairly close to area to protect. This unit is bigger and heavier than I expected. Let the unit run 24/7. My unit is noisy when you are within a few feet of it. Others reviewed the same. Pictures posted of trapped bugs after 1 week, then after 2 additional weeks.

The picture is the results when I let it run for 3 days (I usually clean it out about every 1.5 days, but I forgot). We live in Kansas and I'd say we normally have a normal amount of bugs around our house. It's not loud, my toddler can't fit his fingers in it, and most importantly - it kills the heck outta bugs. I've been recommending it to all of my neighbors.

Highly recommend. It caught so many bugs in a year…

The 'bug sucker' DynaTrap works! I like to garden and usually get eaten up by mosquitos. I'm often the only one in a group to get eaten alive. However, since the trap has been in use, I haven't been bitten once. Some things to know: The trap remains on nonstop. There's a fan that makes noise, but it's not any more loud than a small desk fan. It discharges carbon dioxide, attracting insects by mimicking human breath. The fan sucks them into the slots, then down to the basket below, where they eventually die. For that reason, it's a challenge to empty the basket, because weak but living mosquitos will invariably escape. I caught over a cup of insects in one week. The cord is nice and long, and it has to be plugged in to operate. The unit is easy to click on and off by twisting the entire middle portion. It's weather-resistant and the basket is large. This particular unit covers a 1/2 acre. There isn't any zapping, light sparks, or loud noises. Position it head-high, rather than on a low table. The one thing that I wish that I'd known is that ALL types of mites and parasitic bugs will think that they're going to a rock show. This is a beacon for the gross creepy crawlies, and it is a possibility that they will congregate and buzz the trap. Not all of them make it inside the basket, making the area outside a potential hazard! I got close to it, squinting to see what I had caught, when I saw what looked like stains on the outside of the metal basket sections. I 'dusted' it off with my hands, and it turns out that it was mites that promptly tried to relocate on me! I had never had contact with something like that before. For this reason, I would highly recommend that you situate your trap away from all human and animal traffic to totally avoid revved up insects. Prepare to generally leave it undisturbed. Highly recommended!
