The description says it covers an entire acre but it did not or, maybe I don't know what "covers an entire acre" actually means. I had the trap set up for weeks and I was still plagued by flying insects. (Can't help but feel that the machine was actually bringing in a lot more bugs.) A lot of bugs did meet their end but a lot did not. The unit is actually well constructed however be mindful when emptying it there are quite a few live bugs that will escape.

Despite the availability of less expensve, aftermarket replacement bulbs, I've stuck with the DynaTrap brand because they work.

We live in a small, heavily-wooded community in the middle of a wildlife refuge and along protected wetlands. We get bugs! This year, the no-see-ums were brutal, I'm assuming because of all the spring rains we had. Almost anywhere you go in our neighborhood you're going to get bit...except on my porch. The reduction in biting flies is very noticeable.

To me, it's worth an extra buck or two to have this level of comfort and if you spread the cost difference out over the summer "buggy months" you're only talking pennies a day difference between the DynatTrap OEM bulb and a generic aftermarket bulb.

I'm sitting comfortably on my porch typing his and I can actually see my neighbor, a few houses down the road, swatting at the bugs.

I was eager to try the DynaTrap DT1130-GRSR Mosquito/bug trap as we have a lot of rain in the spring and get a lot of mosquitos as a result. We have the standard bug zappers that can be loud, so I was excited to see how quiet this unit is. After running it a while, it did trap a collection of bugs. I can't say that this totally eliminates all the mosquitos in a given area though. We use it on the back patio, and while it does attract and trap quite a bit, there's still a lot of those bloodsuckers flying around to get us. But, using it in conjunction with our existing bug zappers and some mosquito dunks, the number of mosquitos 'bugging' us is greatly diminished. I may look at getting another one for our front porch.

Not worth the money. Does ok job catches more moths then any other flying insects.
It says it covers 1/4 of an acre of land. I doubt that.
Comes with a 2 pin plug so you have to buy an adapter before you can use it.

I keep this Dynatrap on 24/7. Unlike the outdoor one that doesn’t trap mosquitoes like DynaTrap advertises, this unit is very effective, knats, fruit flys, regular flys. Company lists what the unit and inserts does accurately. I change the glue insert out about every 2 weeks.

Yes, these work well. If you have a lot of flying bug activity you will go through the adhesive cards fast. This newer model uses a modified card that appears to be cut different than the previous model which allowed for other vendor cards to be used. Those cards are much more affordable than the replacements for this new model. I will try to "modify" cards from other vendors and if that doesn't work I likely will not buy more of these newer models. It is what it is. It's either afordable to use or it's not..
