  • We have had our dynatrap for a couple years and love it. The trap itself works great. Our first bulb that came with it finally burnt out and we bought this replacement bulb less than a month ago and it's already burnt out again. This bulb is too expensive to replace every month.

  • I am SO THRILLED with this DynaTrap DT1050-TUNSR Mosquito & Flying Insect Trap. It REALLY WORKS! And this is coming from the most mosquito attractive person I know… ME! We have literally tried just about everything: Citronella (doesn’t work & not great when you can smell it while you’re trying to eat outside) Zappers (only works slightly better, but that embarrassing noise it makes… nah) Mosquito repellant sprays (don’t want the smell or spray residual near where we’re eating food) Although we live in southern California and never had problems with mosquitos before, it’s become a HUGE PROBLEM over the past few years. It can ruin any time you want to spend on the patio, unless you use lots of spray or other repellants. And not only are the bites annoying (I am also slightly allergic), but they can be dangerous (lots of new mosquitos in our area that are much more aggressive and can carry disease). After a lot of research, I found this fan and trap style of mosquito device and after reading loads of reviews, decided to give it a try. I was desperate! With a fast-approaching patio dinner for friends, I needed something that would really work so I ordered the trap and set it up near our patio table, two days before the dinner. After twenty-four hours of continuous use, the trap had a fair number of mosquitos, moths, and gnats in it. I continued to let it run (next to the table), and moved it about 25 feet away, a few hours before our guests arrived. During the dinner, I kept checking my arms and ankles to see if I had been bit. NOPE! Not one bite and I never saw a mosquito. As a matter of fact, the fan on the device is fairly quiet, so while we sat around talking and eating, it never bothered us in the least. This trap is WONDERFUL, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND using this when you don’t want to use a toxic spray and you haven’t had any luck with smelly citronella candles! I’m even thinking about purchasing a second one for our front courtyard!

  • After thinking the wrong item was sent, I realized I ordered a refill pack for $13. This is not the starter kit. Going back to look i noticed the "frequently returned item" message along with finding the plug-in for $18. That's an $18 nope. Take the concept and make something within the same UV nm range and save a bit or enjoy the value in being able to customize. Be sure to make something that won't slowly strain your eyes or catch on fire. I just happened to have an extra uv light from a shelf not being used in my uranium cabinet. Used some poster frame trim, cardstock, and found a piece of tyvek left from a sewing template I made to cover the middle. Providing a photo to show my mega example but I plan to relocate this closer to the wall in my closet. Since they are LEDs, they shouldn't get too hot but I will supervise it. I will see how many fungus gnats I can catch in the plant kitchen first. The main point- $18 is a lot for a simple plug in retrofitted to hold a sticky card and i wonder how many others thought they were ordering a kit. I imagine, for $18, you can get multiple uv plug ins and modify them with something you have in the house already. I made mine in less than 10 minutes.

  • I waisted time trying to save money on the knock of bulbs. I ordered the knock off and they did not fit. I should have just ordered this OEM bull and save the time and headache of sending the others back. Will always order these originals DYNATRAP bulbs. Highly Recommend this bulb.

  • This has worked well trapping these pesky mosquitoes in my garage. This is more a controlled environment than outdoors. I also use lactic acid as an attractant. This trap will not catch 100% of the bugs, I estimate about 80%. The pictures are from the beginning of summer after the spring rains and early fall after a hot dry summer. Effective in the garage, not as effective outdoors.

  • This my not be as effective in every one else situation but it's worth the shoot. This method has worked for 4 out of 5 people I showed this to so I decided to share this method in hopes it helps others like it does for us! I used a garden flag holder and hung my trap and a fly catcher I got from the hardware store about 20-30ft from where we gather on the patio. We're from the west cost and just moved to the south where every living insect is 10 times bigger and just about everything bites here! For the first year we just would get eaten alive when we would just step outside for a smoke! Now after 2-3 days we have noticed no more bites the next day and while sitting on the patio I've my slef have noticed about 3-4 mosquitoes flying around us compared to the hundreds before! Behind my house is a saturated field that stays wet and is where these things are breeding. The city sprays but sense my little set up,it's been nice hanging out outside now😀 with the fly trap it attracts everything so eating on the patio is nice to finally be able to enjoy. The fly trap is really smelly so depending on the direction the wind is blowing you may have to move it around. Lol

  • Bug zapper Will not work after more than a few bugs get zapped have to clean it off and then it starts working for a few minutes you can see in the picture where they get stuck on the cage and it overwhelms the bug zapper I do not recommend

  • This is how my dyna trap replacement bulb came tried to use it today doesn't work. Buyer beware. This is not what I ordered!

  • In the about this item section, it said it was a pack of two light bulbs. There’s even a review that mentioned it was two light bulbs. I only received one light bulb. Will return the item.

  • This product is amazing here in the South! We have many insects plus other critters and finally can enjoy time outside with this item. Much appreciated 👍 Keep up the great work.

  • We have mosquitoes 🦟 and there’s no relief. I’m talking 100 years on this property and many different methods to no avail. We run from the car to the front door. We wear masks outside and jackets with long pants in 100 degree heat to avoid them they’re so aggressive and swarm us. If we can handle the smell, we’ll spray ourselves with various repellents but it’s easier to wear a hood, jacket and long pants with closed toe shoes. Miserable either way, really. Just to say we tried something new this year, I bought the Dynatrap and lure. We hung it from a tree 40 ft on the diagonal away from our main entrance and exit from the house and 60 ft from the driveway. After 2 days, we were shocked. We could stand outside the front door in shorts for five minutes and not see, hear or host 🤣 a single mosquito. After 8 days, it was so full (attached photo), we emptied it and hung it again. It’s been two weeks now and tonight, for the first time in my long life, we set our chairs out to watch the sunset and didn’t need to share the experience with a single mosquito. The distance estimate for coverage is accurate in our experience. It’s been impressive and the only product that’s worked for us. My father is impressed considering he grew up walking to school with mosquitoes packed on his arms and legs. Dynatrap works for us!

  • When I got this "insect trap and killer", I should have paid attention to the word "trap". Yes, indeed, the moths were trapped in this device and flying around inside it. I was puzzled about this and read the included instructions more carefully. This device is designed to trap the insects and then they die slowly becoming dehydrated (oh, ick!!). Wouldn't it be more humane to have them die instantly like an insect zapper? Not sure what I think about this, so I can't recommend either way.

  • I was eager to try the DynaTrap DT1130-GRSR Mosquito/bug trap as we have a lot of rain in the spring and get a lot of mosquitos as a result. We have the standard bug zappers that can be loud, so I was excited to see how quiet this unit is. After running it a while, it did trap a collection of bugs. I can't say that this totally eliminates all the mosquitos in a given area though. We use it on the back patio, and while it does attract and trap quite a bit, there's still a lot of those bloodsuckers flying around to get us. But, using it in conjunction with our existing bug zappers and some mosquito dunks, the number of mosquitos 'bugging' us is greatly diminished. I may look at getting another one for our front porch.

  • I keep this on our deck and plug it in during the evening and night so the light attracts the insects. I notice that almost every flying annoying bug is attracted to the blue light. There wasps, mosquitoes, flies, moths ect...in the trap. I live on an acreage so this is so helpful in eliminating these pests. It performs very well and is a good size to capture a large amount of bugs. There is a catchment at the bottom that you take off and empty the dead bugs out of. The only negative thing that I can think of is that it needs to be plugged in. The cord is short so you need a long extension cord to suspend it from a tree or building which is ideal. It seems to eliminate enough bugs sitting on a bench on the deck though. It would have been nice to have a battery operated option. I'll keep this one as it works OK on the deck where we have plug ins but will be on the hunt for a battery operated one to put on a shelter as we have several goats arriving this week.

  • I live near a river in Southern California. This summer we had an Aedes problem and they are active in elevator shafts and in our subterranean parking structure. The pros are this does not use chemicals. The "natural" Murphys incense sticks give me a headache when burned indoors. This device is rated at 300 sq. ft. which means if you are getting bit at night you might want to keep it near your bed stand. That does not guarantee repellant. Also the white noise fan humming sounds like a heated laptop. I have about 1 mosquito per 1000 sq. ft. so it took approximately 72 hours to trap the one mosquito. I had an annoying house fly in my room at night. It did trap a fly fairly well, the fan chopped it up. But I had carry the lantern to the fly and shut off the lights for the fly to see the light and want to fly in. It didn't not work on the first try. I guess you can say that this device works, but I was expecting cup fulls of dried up mosquitos ready to be used for fertilizer in my garden. For the price I paid, I guess 3/5 is decent. Maybe 3.25/5 for the design of the canister. 4/5 if you consider all other alternatives.
