   The bulb blew after the first few minutes of me switching it on for the first time. I tried to get it replaced, however dynatrapoutlet.com advised I needed to return it and reorder one, I did not want to do this as the price has increased considerably, dynatrapoutlet.com refused to send me a replacement for the same price I had originally paid.. I contacted Dynatrap and they said the seller should replace it, not them, so they refused to take responsibility for it as well, even though there is a 1 year warranty. I ordered a new bulb (and paid for it!) and it arrived today, the bulb works but keeps switching off after the first 5 seconds so the unit is obviously faulty. I have no choice but to return it and I won’t be buying another. Very disappointing!

   I live in Alabama near a storm drain and have had a serious mosquito problem. Every time I stepped outside, I was getting eaten alive. I know DynaTrap has mixed reviews, but I was desperate and decided to try the DT1050-AZSR with the Atrakta lure packet. I set it up yesterday and let it run continuously (as recommended). After just 24 hours, I checked it and was shocked — it had already caught a large number of mosquitoes. There are a few moths and other bugs, but it’s mostly mosquitoes. I’d estimate at least 40, possibly more. So far, I’m impressed. I’ll update after a week, but if you’re struggling with mosquitoes like I was, this is definitely worth trying.

   DISCLAIMER: I’ve only had it up for 2 days, so I can’t speak to the long-term performance. SHORT VERSION: this device is INCREDIBLY effective if baited and set a good bit away from where you’ll be hanging out. I have a well-fenced backyard with a lot of trees – there’s almost no little breeze and a lot of shade. It’s basically a mosquito castle. No matter how diligently I dump standing water and set up other traps (notably, Spartan Mosquito traps which did reduce the population but offered no immediate relief), my yard was FILLED with mosquitos. Tired of the harassment, I got used to literally showering with insect repellant at night. Earlier this week I thought, “maybe it’s worth trying one of those expensive traps given how much money I’m burning on repellant/how tedious it is to apply it every single day.” I’m glad I did, because this thing is AMAZING. The attached photo was taken after a single night of operation. The pile pictured is almost entirely mosquitos. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you feel about them), several moths have been lost to collateral damage. It also seems to attract June bugs and miscellaneous small gnats/flies. I was very apprehensive about the “titanium dioxide coating emits CO2 attractant” claim offered in the product description. I did some background research, and there are at least a few sources supporting the following assertion “when exposed to air flow (fan), light (especially UV, which this device uses), and moisture (humidity0, Ti02 can accelerate the decomposition of organic matter (trapped bugs), releasing carbon dioxide in the process.” I cannot verify how accurate that claim is, because – at the advice of other reviewers – I purchased a bait pack to include in the trap to be safe. There’s a wide variety of bait options, I ordered the DynaTrap Attrakta bait (https://www.dynatrapoutlet.com.com/gp/product/B07BNV8H8F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It appears to be very popular with mosquitoes based on the results from a single night! Overall, it’s pricey, but is easily the most effective option I have ever used to control the mosquito population. I have tried all sorts of traps (Spartan, dunks, passive measures/best practices, etc.) – with lukewarm results. This is the first time I have noticed a major overnight change in mosquito activity around my yard. I especially like the screen trap container / light combo, which allows me to witness these little monsters falling prey to the device. Oh, and most importantly (besides using bait) – hang it AT LEAST 20 FEET AWAY from where you’ll be sitting. When I approached the trap at night to check its progress, it was like walking into a mosquito tornado (Sharknado sequel idea!). DO NOT hang it it by your chair and expect to be safe – it will lure every mosquito in the immediate vicinity right to you, and you will have a bad time. From a quick experiment last night, I think this tip may be helpful for prospective buyers as well: let it run for a bit BEFORE you plan to do stuff outside. If you stay outside right after turning it on, your breath/scent will compete with the trap, which leaves you exposed and interferes with the trap’s effectiveness as a mosquito beacon. Give them a bit of time to become enchanted with the trap, THEN you can do your business relatively mosquito-free! I strongly recommend this item. A1, best mosquito trap I’ve ever used. Well worth the money!!!

    Pretty strong fan! It definitely works and is quiet! I have an Asian lady beetle problem in my house! (Ladybug lookalikes) I’ve tried so many things! This being one of them! And while it doesn’t fix the problem, it definitely keeps numbers down. I guess I thought the light in the middle that attracts them was also a zapper. I’ve seen many of the beetles on the lights themselves and not get sucked down. But despite that it’s still pretty good.

    I am SO THRILLED with this DynaTrap DT1050-TUNSR Mosquito & Flying Insect Trap. It REALLY WORKS! And this is coming from the most mosquito attractive person I know… ME! We have literally tried just about everything: Citronella (doesn’t work & not great when you can smell it while you’re trying to eat outside) Zappers (only works slightly better, but that embarrassing noise it makes… nah) Mosquito repellant sprays (don’t want the smell or spray residual near where we’re eating food) Although we live in southern California and never had problems with mosquitos before, it’s become a HUGE PROBLEM over the past few years. It can ruin any time you want to spend on the patio, unless you use lots of spray or other repellants. And not only are the bites annoying (I am also slightly allergic), but they can be dangerous (lots of new mosquitos in our area that are much more aggressive and can carry disease). After a lot of research, I found this fan and trap style of mosquito device and after reading loads of reviews, decided to give it a try. I was desperate! With a fast-approaching patio dinner for friends, I needed something that would really work so I ordered the trap and set it up near our patio table, two days before the dinner. After twenty-four hours of continuous use, the trap had a fair number of mosquitos, moths, and gnats in it. I continued to let it run (next to the table), and moved it about 25 feet away, a few hours before our guests arrived. During the dinner, I kept checking my arms and ankles to see if I had been bit. NOPE! Not one bite and I never saw a mosquito. As a matter of fact, the fan on the device is fairly quiet, so while we sat around talking and eating, it never bothered us in the least. This trap is WONDERFUL, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND using this when you don’t want to use a toxic spray and you haven’t had any luck with smelly citronella candles! I’m even thinking about purchasing a second one for our front courtyard!

    We have mosquitoes 🦟 and there’s no relief. I’m talking 100 years on this property and many different methods to no avail. We run from the car to the front door. We wear masks outside and jackets with long pants in 100 degree heat to avoid them they’re so aggressive and swarm us. If we can handle the smell, we’ll spray ourselves with various repellents but it’s easier to wear a hood, jacket and long pants with closed toe shoes. Miserable either way, really. Just to say we tried something new this year, I bought the Dynatrap and lure. We hung it from a tree 40 ft on the diagonal away from our main entrance and exit from the house and 60 ft from the driveway. After 2 days, we were shocked. We could stand outside the front door in shorts for five minutes and not see, hear or host 🤣 a single mosquito. After 8 days, it was so full (attached photo), we emptied it and hung it again. It’s been two weeks now and tonight, for the first time in my long life, we set our chairs out to watch the sunset and didn’t need to share the experience with a single mosquito. The distance estimate for coverage is accurate in our experience. It’s been impressive and the only product that’s worked for us. My father is impressed considering he grew up walking to school with mosquitoes packed on his arms and legs. Dynatrap works for us!
